First Ian Stuart, and now this. Joerg Haider, Austria's leading far right politician, is dead, killed in a car crash.
This is well-timed. Fortunately, this means the man, who was a capable politician, won't be able to take advantage of the recent disturbing electoral gains of the Austrian far right. I wonder how long it will be before someone claims it was a conspiracy, probably the fault of the Jews and/or Muslims.
Let's hope they play this at his funeral:
They shouldn't be driving day or night
They can't think left, they can only think right
The sun reflects off their bald head
Like Ian Stuart they're going to wind up dead
Nazis... shouldn't drive (their cars)
They should've paid attention in driver's ed
Instead of hating foreigners, queers and reds
Keep your eyes on the highway you loser thug
Now you're squished on the highway like a bug
Ian, Ian, King of the Pit, no friend to you or me
Aaaaaaaaaaah! Watch out for that tree!
That's 'Nazi's Shouldn't Drive' by MDC (can't find a good copy online though).
Mainstream 'anti-fascist' politicians are already lamenting his overdue demise:
Chancellor Alfred Gusenbauer described the longtime politician as someone who had shaped Austria's domestic political landscape over decades.
Austrian President Heinz Fischer described Haider's death as a "human tragedy."
Good riddance. Here's to more graduates from the Ian Stuart Donaldson school of driving.

There's an MDC anthology at Hangover Heart Attack if you're interested.
How could Haider "take advantage' of the "recent disturbing electoral gains of the Austrian far right"? I'll tell you: people could freely vote for him. This concept is known as 'democracy'. I rather doubt that gloating over his accidental death is going to further your own ideas amogst Austrian voters. And nor is drawing thoroughly spurious parallels with a neo-nazi thug (sorry, 'musician') who'd never stood in an election in his life and probably couldn't have spelt 'electoral politics' in order to save it.
Yes, gloating over accidents is in general another way of saying 'bye bye moral high ground!' I've no doubt that Ian Stuart Donaldson shared this trait with you, which, ironically, probably gives you more in common with him than you had with Haider. Isn't that a nice thought?
Polignac is actually Simon Darby doing one of his usual trolls having got bored with Lancaster Unity.
Simon Darby is actually on the payroll of MI5.
As is self styled legal beagle Loser Lee Barnes.
The neo-nazi trolls must be drawn to your blogspot like flies to a Venus fly trap.
Hope you can digest them and spit them out.
highlander,
Cheers.
polignac,
Had your sense of humour surgically removed?

You might have a go but you're wrong.
By 'take advantage' I, and people with more than a handful or brain cells, am obviously referring to the ability of politicians to utilise the options presented to them in the best possible manner.
Haider, no matter what his previous skill as a politician, is now unable to do this, being dead.
However, in your rush to find something to condemn me you either didn't notice this or were too stupid to notice.

I'm surprised that the Austrian electorate, mostly speaking German rather than English, pay such close attention to what I post here.

Yes, that is a completely rational comparison.
Idiot.
I will wait to see the social housing green paper, but if the leaks are right of what is happening then I can see the BNP getting the biggest injection of voters ever.
I hope that its wrong but I've a feeling it's not
Duncan you a absolute disgrace to Maryport we dont wont Marxists here enriching us with your immigrant poison! stay away from the navy club cos i might just smack you!
Which Peter would this be then?
ARE YOU RELATED TO THESE PEOPLE??
"You are a den of vipers and thieves. I intend to rout you out, and by the Eternal God, I will rout you out... If people only understood the rank injustice of the money and banking system, there would be a revolution by morning."
President, Andrew Jackson
"If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks...will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered... The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs."
President, Thomas Jefferson
"History records that the money changers have used every form of abuse, intrigue, deceit, and violent means possible to maintain their control over governments by controlling money and its issuance."
James Madison
"The Government should create, issue, and circulate all the currency and credits needed to satisfy the spending power of the Government and the buying power of consumers. By the adoption of these principles, the taxpayers will be saved immense sums of interest."
Abraham Lincoln
This is hardly surprising when their so-called Federal Reserve Bank isn't Federal or government owned but in the hands of private Jewish international financiers operating out of Europe who are bleeding the American public dry!

More saying "bye bye moral high ground".

Funny how no-one from Maryport has ever said anything like that to my face.
I've been going to the Navy Club for three years now and I'm a member so I'm sure I'll see you shortly 'Peter'.

I won't hold my breath.
LOL
Duncan,
you spectacularly miss the point. As you youself have just said, Haider hasn't 'taken advantage' of anything more than any other politician would, from any political background. My 'rush to condemn you' was purely on the grounds of basic decency. Your little tirade contained absolutely no meaningful criticism of Haider's politics, and concerned itself solely with schadenfreude. I thought the whole post was of an uncommonly low standard; whereas I have been quite impressed by the reasoning you provide in various others.
"I'm surprised that the Austrian electorate, mostly speaking German rather than English, pay such close attention to what I post here."
Perhaps I should have been blunter: your post serves no moral purpose; by making it you stoop to the level (real or imaginary) of the very sort of people you seek to criticise, rightly or wrongly. Comprendrez?
K Y Jelly,
I'm Simon Darby? And I'm in MI5? Which side quite does that put me on, then?
Sorry to disappoint you, but I don't much like the BNP. They have much more in common with you lot than they do with me. And as such I'm not going to provide you with details of what variety and vintage of wine I'm drinking, how many bacon sarnies I had for lunch or how I made a an automatic pigeon loft de-woodworm-er out of a couple of plastic dustbin lids and an old extractor fan.
polignac,
Your little tirade contained absolutely no meaningful criticism of Haider's politics
Well noticed, that was not the purpose of the post which was poking fun at the death of a particularly loathsome individual.
If you don't like, don't read it.
by making it you stoop to the level (real or imaginary) of the very sort of people you seek to criticise, rightly or wrongly. Comprendrez?
Not the same point as you made before.
I compared the death in a car crash of one prominent far right figure, Ian Stuart, with the death of another in a car crash, Haider, a valid comparison.
You compared me with Ian Stuart for making this comparison, which is sheer lunacy.
Thousands turn out to mourn the death of Joerg Haider.Seemed like a popular bloke.Oh well, someone else will fill the gap.
southerner,
I've heard he was even more popular with his younger deputy.
Wonder how his ultra-conservative supporters will take that news!
